Store note:
We are a UK-based online retailer offering high-quality refurbished laptops & other electronic goods. We pride ourselves in the quality of the service we provide, and of the products we supply. As of 2019, we have moved into an office in Staffordshire, and began to gradually take on staff. We look forward to assisting our customers as we expand.
 
By operating in the North, we combine our focus on product selection, fast delivery & customer service - with a sensible regional cost basis. This way we could treat our staff well, who in turn assist our customers.
 
Record-keeping:
We will record the item's serial number & condition. Where the item is not received, we may register the serial with loss and theft databases to help prevent any fraudulent use or reselling of the item; we're not able to supply serial number before the item is delivered. This is to ensure the privacy of the end-customer.
 
Address note:
We will only send to the eBay checkout address (as per eBay policy), via a tracked insured courier (a signature is required, so do ensure you have the correct address at checkout).
 
To be transparent:
We have a no discount policy, the price is as listed, any offer via the eBay messaging may not receive a response.
 
Collection:
Online is where we focus on delivering more customer value. As result, we do not have any plan for a physical consumer store/show-room. All our orders are sent via tracked couriers (we do not offer collection). However, we may rarely be able to offer to view of our laptops locally, upon arrangements in advance.
 
 
Additional return policy details:
Our items are thoroughly tested & logged for security reasons before shipping. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if we detect any of the following:
 
i) Sign of customer induced damage (CID): this includes, but is not limited to liquid damage, visible physical drops/damages; damage caused by external electrical power surges.
 
ii. If any warranty sticker, labels, or windows key label have been removed/broken; if the operating system has been changed, if the bios have been changed; hardware has been modified; or if the product has been registered with the manufacturer (where applicable, please only register this product once you have fully inspected and are happy with the product).
 
 
Returns:
Within the first 30 days, you may return for a refund, a refund is not available after the 30 days. Please do not return any items without first contacting us. The buyer is responsible for ensuring the item arrives back safely, in the same condition as shipped. If you wish to proceed with a return request, please immediately stop using the product, and repackage it for a return. If the product or packaging is used or damaged, we reserve the right to deduct proportionate depreciation in value when product.
 
Internationally, mark as "RETURNED GOODS" to avoid any Customs charges. We are not responsible for any charges imposed on packages returned unless otherwise agreed upon, the refund will be processed through the same payment method you used to make your original purchase.
 
 
Privacy Policy (GDPR)
TakeMyTech LTD’s privacy policy sets out what personal buyer information we receive from eBay UK (herein referred to as “eBay”), how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties. We abide by and are compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998 (herein referred to as “The DPA”) and the General Data Protection Regulation (herein referred to as “The GDPR”) which comes into effect on 25th May 2018. We are committed to keeping buyers’ personal information secure and confidential.
 
Lawful Basis for Processing Personal Data
For the purposes of The GDPR, we are the Data Processor when selling on eBay and processes all personal data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner. Under Article 6 of The GDPR, the lawful basis on which we process personal data received from eBay is that of “Contract” - whereby processing is necessary in order to fulfil buyer orders and enquiries. We retain information provided by eBay, such as transaction information for internal financial accounting purposes. It is a legal requirement to retain this information for a period of 7 years.
 
 
 
Data We Receive: Personally Identifiable Information
We receive personally identifiable information from eBay only when it is voluntarily submitted by buyers when placing an on-line order. The data we receive includes: name, company name where applicable, delivery name, delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number (if given), date of order, items ordered, value of items ordered, chosen method of delivery. We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information to any third party for any purpose.
 
How we use buyers’ personal information
We may use any personal buyer information provided by eBay to:
 
-Process and dispatch buyers’ orders
-To verify eligibility for after-sale support where requested by the buyer
-Carry out regulatory checks to meet our legal obligations
-Prevent and detect order risks

-Undertake anonymised statistical analysis (we won’t be able to identify individuals from this data)
 
We treat all information we hold about buyers as private and confidential.
We will not reveal any personal details or details concerning buyers’ orders to anyone not connected with us, unless:
 
-A buyer asks us to reveal the information, or we have a buyer’s permission to do so
-We are required or permitted to do so by law

Data Subject Access Requests
Under the GDPR buyers are entitled to obtain from us (the Data Processor for the purposes of The GDPR when selling on eBay) a copy of the data held concerning them and to have any inaccuracies in the data rectified. We are obliged to provide this data to within 1 calendar month of the request and free of charge. However, we have the right to refuse or charge for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive and repetitive.
 
Right to erasure:
You are entitled at any time to withdraw your consent to our continued use of data that you have supplied to us. Additionally, you are entitled to ask us to delete all the data that we currently hold about you - in so far it does not exceed our legal obligation to retain the records needed for the accounting purposes as required by the UK authorities.
