It was fair dinkum, the radio IS several years old. So I opened the radio, put the old battery in my "bulging battery" steel can, so it won't hurt anything if it goes bang, and replaced it with this battery. It charges fine, and so far, it works fine. The soft-switch means it will slowly lose charge over time, but that's ok. I could have bought a new radio for the price, but that's OK. It works great!

The seller was very communicative in addressing the issue and sent a replacement battery after I returned the first battery. The second battery worked as expected. I did not give a five star because I had to paid the additional shipping fee to get a working battery making the cost 25% higher for me.
