Since its wider than the oem cap, it hits the painted body panel around the gas cap. I had to cut a rubber gasket and use the center threaded hole to add thegasket. It solved all problems. I would recommend either start adding the gasket or machine the sides up further. A lot of us slingshot owners have the painted fairing and the ones that dont do their own work, are going to be sending this part back if purchase
