The Samsung Homesync is a 1TB HDD that can also act as an Android media/TV box. In other words, it can interact with your Android phone to stream or sync media using Google Play apps and services. The Samsung Homesync’s capabilities can be used to the full with a Samsung phone (e.g. a 2014 or later Galaxy Note or Galaxy S-line device; or some tablets, from the Tab 7.0 Plus to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)) as it can also use Samsung apps. The Samsung Homesync can act as the ultimate storage upgrade or a handy media storage device in situations where you can’t use a cloud. The Samsung Homesync is the ideal companion for your Samsung Galaxy device. The Samsung Homesync is an HDD that also runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This allows the device to interact flawlessly with your Android phone. This allows the phone to act as a ‘screen’ on which you can search, organize, and play the content stored on the Homesync. The device has its own dual-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz, and a huge 8GB of RAM. This allows it to play or reproduce media with ease and speed. It also supports video playback at 1080p (60 fps). The Homesync has a storage capacity of 1TB, allowing for a large individual cloud that can be accessed by up to eight devices at once. It can connect via its two USB 3.0 ports, via Wi-Fi, Wifi Direct or via Bluetooth. It can also sync to devices using near-field communication, albeit using tags only. The Homesync also has a Gigabit Ethernet port for an independent Internet connection. The Homesync can also connect to your TV, using its HDMI-out or S/PDIF ports. When a Homesync is connected to an external monitor or TV, it can operate it using its Android operating system. You can then control this home media center setup with your phone (may require the Homesync app found in the Play Store), using the connection options listed above. The Homesync can then run the great media apps typically found in your Google account, such as YouTube, Twitter, Google Music, Google Movies, or Google Docs. It can also run familiar Samsung apps, such as Gallery, Samsung Music, or Samsung Video. (This may depend on the type of phone used.) The Homesync can send or receive files from your phone, and also act as external storage. It can also sync to and update from a computer using the Homesync app for PCs. This allows for a rapid transfer of more files to the Homesync, if you want to play them on your TV. The Samsung Homesync has been developed to be a complete storage, media center, and TV interface solution for your Samsung Android phone or tablet. It can play video directly on your TV, using your mobile device as a remote control. It can store up to 1TB of video, music, or other files, which you can access via USB or wirelessly. It can also back up files from your PC, which you can then reproduce on another screen such as your TV. The Samsung Homesync makes the perfect personal-cloud companion for your Samsung Galaxy device.
