Completly flat. I live in Oregon. When I first put it up as a dipole flat side Hawaii was booming in on AM. Day later heard Australia on AM. I changed it to a inverted V dipole. Now I am loud on AM locally and Hawaii was booming in. No balum needed. Once I get a free band radio this is really going to work out. Plus it's hidden. Used fishing line for the elements.
