After many years I had lost my original antenna and bought this to bring the unit back up. The antenna can be plugged into the screw on to 2.5mm (or perhaps 3.0mm) male threads on the scanner (antenna has female connector). Or you can use the Motorola Connector (car antenna connector) to plug into this model of scanner. Both options worked to connect antenna and either can be used as desired.

I feel that it shipped in a timely fashion, but the postal service seems to be at fault for the fact that I still don't have the antenna. Even though the town I am in is in between Seattle and Dave's hobby shop location, they sent my stuff to Seattle when I think they could have just as easily sent it to my city. It is 2 days after I was supposed to receive it and it's still out there in the ether. No issues with Dave, just the USPS.
