  I can confirm that, despite the confusing description, this accepts the smaller, squarer RJ11 connector found on the 'modem' output of a microfilter or adaptor plate and on the input to your modem/router. You'll need a (probably short) RJ11 cable to connect it. So far I can confirm that it hasn't affected our data rate at ~80Mbits/s. Haven't yet tested it in a thunderstorm similar to the one that knocked out our previous router (and many other people's locally) but it has to be worth a try...
