Repair Don t Despair (RDD) Terms and Conditions 2023 and onward. Last updated 22/01/2024.
Some terms may not apply to all items we sell (we primarily sell replacement mobile device parts, but may sometimes sell other things). Where required, please use common sense to interpret the terms of sale.
Overall, we comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 by offering 30 day returns. Furthermore, we strive to meet the General Data Protection Regulation. We do not store any private information pertaining to a buyer.
1. We are not responsible for damage or loss of functionality when you or a third party install, repair, replace, or resell our stock. We will not accept returns damaged due to mishandling or incorrect installation. If the refund is forced by eBay, we reserve the right to recoup the costs through eBay s Report a Buyer feature and escalate as required (See condition 4 for more details).
2. Items are shipped as described and tested, with evidence recorded. Photos are taken of the package and delivery address as well as its contents and we have proof of postage for all items. We will ONLY use the shipping address provided to us through eBay for your order. An incorrect shipping address is not our responsibility, but we may at our absolute discretion assist with contacting the responsible courier for an order, if an incorrect address was mistakenly used.
3. Postage cannot be changed once an order is dispatched. We dispatch promptly and use adequate packaging, including anti-static bubble wrap if the item is electrically sensitive. We most often ship in large letter or small parcel format with Royal Mail. You are entitled to a free and fast service or a premium next day guaranteed upgrade for the specified cost at eBay checkout. Also, we cannot be held responsible for the courier service being delayed. The only guaranteed service is Royal Mail Special Delivery. We may, at our discretion, decide to claim for late delivery if a special delivery is indeed late, and pass the refund onto you. However, we are not obliged to, and the claim is not guaranteed to be a success. Delivery estimates provided by eBay are estimates and not guaranteed.
4. Fraudulent returns or item not as described claims will be escalated to eBay support, Action Fraud and possibly UK Small Claims court, resulting in potential fraud charges and a CCJ on your credit file. Please only buy from us with good intentions, we absolutely do not want to do this unnecessarily. Returns that are damaged, used, missing packaging or parts will be subject to a partial refund as per eBay top rated seller deduction guidelines (see https: www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/handle-return-request-seller?id=4115#refund_guidelines)
5. With specific reference to our Apple Phone Parts: please be aware of Apple s third-party repair policy and conduct your own research, as it may affect the functionality of replaced parts. Parts may cause the iPhone to display Important [insert part name here] message [s] or cause minor functionality loss due to replaced parts. We cannot resolve this but can provide advice. An example is Important Display Message which also disables True Tone and Auto Brightness.
6. We claim an item as genuine only when absolutely certain. We rarely sell non-genuine items; if we do, we will make it explicitly clear the item is not authentic.
7. All items are tested and recorded, including serial numbers and unique identifiable information. This is for fraud prevention.
8. No warranties are offered, as we are not manufacturers. We will include any remaining manufacturer warranty in an item s description however. If not mentioned, you should assume no warranty exists. The 30 day returns period is effectively the warranty offered.
9. We reserve the right to cancel orders from low feedback buyers or buyers with suspicious activity. When dispatching an order, we check the buyer s feedback left for others to ensure their transactions generally go smoothly. For large orders on low feedback accounts, we may require the buyer to present identification before we dispatch the order. To this effect, it is entirely your right to cancel an order if you disagree with these principles. Failure to provide identification when requested is equivalent to the buyer asking for an order to be cancelled. Identification is deleted from our inbox as soon as it is verified. This is not official eBay policy, however it is not disallowed on the platform.
10. Items may arrive with one or more security stickers. For parts, stickers will be on their exterior, and for phones, stickers will only be on internal parts with no exterior marks. Orders (and their security marks) are photographed during packing and shipping for fraud investigations should we need to do so. They are tamper proof. Removal of said stickers may invalidate a return.
11. We are not responsible for any harm, injury, or damage that occurs during repairs, such as broken glass or damaged batteries. If an item fails within 30 days in such a way that causes you injury, we are not legally liable for any injuries you have experienced. However, we may at our absolute discretion be able to refund your order, depending on the situation. Otherwise, we can only suggest that you directly communicate with the manufacturer of the item (we will provide this if you re unsure) for any complaints or injuries. We do not manufacture items.
12. If an item is not included in the listing photo or description, please assume it is not part of the order. We may, at our discretion, include additional parts, freebies or items (for example screws, adhesive and instructions) in your order upon request and based on stock availability. Returns for missing parts where said parts were not advertised will be reported to eBay.
13. If an item that we sold is, when being delivered/tracked, refused, rejected or undeliverable for any reason other than courier fault then we are no longer liable for the package. However, if it is returned to us using the return address on the package, we will able to offer a refund of the item s value MINUS the original shipping cost (whether or not it was listed as free shipping). This is not negotiable. We at our discretion decide to issue a full refund if the circumstances warrant it (eg, courier failure, no fault of the buyer).
