Supposedly, the vendor wasn't allowed to ship this item to California---something that should have been indicated in the product description, not the fault of the vendor per se. I ended up finding the same product available at a Sprouts grocery store in SoCal. eBay sent me a refund with this explanation, which was greatly appreciated. Thanks
