Love it - very funny and fun
Many of these rhymes have come back to me from childhood upon reading it. I didn't know I'd ever heard so many. The author groups simlar items together with relevant pictures. Importantly, she's selected funny fun rhymes and left off the nasty and tasteless ones. I'm giggling, so I hope my 6 turning 7 year old niece does too when I give it too her. I've read some to my mom and then to a "grownup" friend and all giggled away. And it wasn't out of memory of the rhymes, but because they are still funny. (For example "Not last night but the night before, a pickle and a lemon came knocking on my door. I went downstairs to let them in. They hit me on the head with a rolling pin. Or a favorite of mine from childhood. "I went to the movies tomorrow and took a front seat at the back. I fell from the floor to the ceiling and hurt the front part of my back.") I wish it included info on the hand motions that go with some of these. I'm not finding it yet on the internet, but I'm hoping to google some of them. For almost all of them I've identifyed the rythm to use when I read them, including one's I'd never known. It's be nice to have the original notes to verify, but it works as is. I've been reading it onto CD so my niece can listen (without mommy having to "read it again") I don't think she'd be able to figure out the rythmes off the page herself (the musical part). Some of these are for jump roping too. There are 28 pages of rhymes with one to three on each page. The pictures are bright colored, and fun.

Funny, clever riddles, well done
I got a bunch of joke books out of the library to decide which to buy for my 6 turning 7 niece (who needs to grow her funny bone). This one was my first pick. It's funny, but still not crude or rude, and many are clever (well to a 7 year old). Even to an adult most of the jokes are funny the first time read. I saw a few similar ones in other books, but most of these were unique to this book. Seems a good length at 62 pages with each joke taking two pages (turn page for punch line). A lot of the books had concepts a 7 yo wouldn't know without explanation or too scary for them (such as vampire jokes or robbers robbing a train, etc.). In many I would have had to tear out a bunch of not-so-nice pages or that I wouldn't want to explain. I think these could go a couple years older than 7 too. (Where does Friday come before Thursday? In a dictionary!) The author says she gathered old tried and true riddles. They've standed the test of time for a reason! In many, the pictures add to the funny of the riddle and make it stick. I liked them better than pictures for the few same jokes found in other books. So I highly recommend this book.
Zenith ZC600 6 Device Learning Universal Remote

learning remote that's functional
Works with my various devices. Easy to use. Like that it doesn't have the button under the mute button the way the zc800 does. On the 800, that button with comast goes to comast xfinity which is a pain since I often accidentally hit it when trying to mute. Wears out after a few years, but takes quite a few years. Batteries last a long time. Easy sized buttons.
