Tina Turner - Totally Under Rated As Blues Singer
Working Together is one of my favourite Ike & Tina LP's. I also used to own the Nutbush CL LP but I was never fully aware just how good this music is. I think some tracks from Sing The Blues were from the latter LP. I also didn't know it was Albert King on guitar. To cut a long story short, I've heard many of these Blues standards by other artists from Canned Heat to you name it, but this compilation refreshed my ears. The quality is better than what you get when you listen online, for me it was definitely worth buying this moderately priced CD.

Tannoy 12" Monitor Gold Corner Speaker Review
Having used used Guy Fountain Autograph, Westminster and several pairs of Tannoy Monitor Gold, Monitor Red and Monitor Silver speakers (12" & 15") as a musician, songwriter, producer there is no doubt that 12" Monitor Golds in corner cabinet are a great choice. Compared to rectangular versions the footprint of corner cabinets is minimal and they do not suffer from the low end colouration that 15" Dual Concentric Tannoy Monitor Golds in rectangular and corner Lancasters often produce. The amount of coloration or boom depends on program material, playback levels, listening room acoustics etc. Having worked and lived for decades with rectangular 15" Lancasters, corner GRF and many Lockwood cabinets it's obvious to me that 15" Tannoy drive units need sufficient cabinet volume and even better, horn loading, to produce a well balanced low end. That simply cannot be obtained in the limited space of ported 15" rectangular or Lancaster 15" corner cabinets with blanked ports.. For any serious music lover with a spare pair of corners in their listening room picking Tannoy 12" dual concentrics in Lancaster, Chatsworth or Canterbury corner enclosures would be an excellent choice.

The female author lived in Hamburg where she experienced the pre war years and then the 6 years of war and the associated horror of life under the Nazis as a German civilian, during which time she was employed by the Nazis as an interpreter, while secretly helping to ease the plight of Scandinavian prisoners in German jail in many clever ways,taking incredible risks which could easily have ended with her being found out and imprisoned or executed as a traitor. Once you start reading this book you won't want to stop.
