A Gritty, Funny, Rude, Wistful book
An excellent book. It is, in turns, gritty, funny, rude, menacing and wistful.
The language flows and invokes an unsettling atmosphere, but there is an element of sweetness running through it.
You wouldn't want to meet these characters at the wrong time, but you would want to listen to them.
This is a classic tale of love, loss and regret told in a unique way.
